The History of SaltCo
SaltCo was founded in 2016 by Dave Gerry, Mark Landgraf, Craig Detter, and Teddy Gerry. Mark, a general contractor with over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate, recognized the ongoing issue of insufficient salt in brine tanks. Knowing the importance of soft water from the beginning, Mark and Dave collaborated with Teddy for the truck’s mechanical design and Craig, a software expert and head engineer for Razor at Motorola, to develop sensor technology.
SaltCo launched in 2017, delivering over 46 million pounds of salt annually and experiencing a growth rate of 30–40% a year since 2018. SaltCo remains the only fully automated, and closed-loop salt delivery company in the United States.
